Six of Swords

Minor · Swords

Description

A figure ferries a woman and child across the water toward a quieter shore. Six swords stand upright in the boat. The water behind is choppy, ahead it smooths out. This card is the crossing. Leaving rough water for calmer water, but bringing the weight with you.

Upright Meanings

You're moving on from something. A relationship, a job, a place, a version of yourself. It's sad and it's right. The Six of Swords doesn't say the loss isn't real. It says the direction is correct. The swords standing in the boat are the parts of the past you still carry. That's fine. You don't have to leave everything at the dock. Just leave what was actively drowning you.

Reversed Meanings

You know you should move and you haven't. Or you started and got pulled back. Something is unfinished. A conversation, a resentment, a goodbye you didn't say. Until that resolves, the crossing keeps stalling. Name what's actually holding the boat in place. It's usually one specific thing, not a vague mood.
